Blackcurrant Aniseed by ElfLiq is an unusual pairing and one of the more distinctive flavours in the Elf Bar line — dark, jammy blackcurrant against the liquorice note of aniseed. It is not a fruit blend in the ordinary sense and it divides opinion, which is worth knowing before buying three of them.

What it tastes like

Blackcurrant leads: deep, slightly tart, closer to the cordial than to the fresh berry. Aniseed sits underneath and comes through on the exhale as a warm, faintly medicinal sweetness — the same note found in traditional blackcurrant and liquorice sweets, which is plainly what this is aiming at. If that combination appeals, this does it well. If aniseed is not for you, no amount of blackcurrant will hide it.

Format and ratio

A 10ml bottle blended at roughly 50% VG — thin enough to wick through the small coils in refillable pod kits and MTL tanks, and deliberately not intended for VG-heavy sub-ohm hardware, where a liquid this thin tends to leak rather than feed properly. Vapour production is modest, which is what suits a tight, cigarette-like draw.
