Matching a coil to your kit
Coils are not interchangeable between brands or usually between ranges within a brand. The range name is printed on the coil and on the tank — check it against the device rather than ordering from memory, because a coil that does not fit is the most common avoidable return in this category.
Resistance decides the draw. Above 1.0 ohm gives a tight, cigarette-like MTL draw and suits higher-strength 50/50 liquid. Below 1.0 ohm is sub-ohm: airy, high vapour, and it wants thick VG-heavy liquid at low strength.
What UK law fixes
Since 1 June 2025 every vaping device sold in the UK must be rechargeable and refillable with replaceable coils or pods. Tanks and pods are capped at 2ml and nicotine liquid at 20mg/ml. Everything here meets those rules.
Getting the most out of a coil
Prime a new coil: fill it, then wait five minutes before the first puff so the wick saturates. A single dry first puff can ruin a coil permanently, and it is the most common cause of a burnt taste on something brand new.
Recycling
Devices, pods and coils contain electronics and must not go in household waste. Take them to a recycling centre with a battery or small-electricals point, or to a retailer operating a take-back scheme.
