Nic salts are 10ml nicotine e-liquids made with a smoother form of nicotine than traditional freebase liquid, which is why they are the usual pairing for small pod systems rather than large sub-ohm tanks. We stock 161 of them from Hayati, Elux, Elf Bar, Lost Mary, SKE Crystal and Vapes Bar and 5 other brands, priced £2.25 to £2.99.
Choosing a strength
Strength is the decision that matters most, and it is chosen on the product page rather than here — most of our range is bottled at both 5mg, 10mg, 15mg and 20mg, so the same flavour appears under more than one strength category.
- 5mg and 10mg — the lower end of the range, generally paired with devices that produce more vapour per puff.
- 20mg — the maximum permitted in the UK, and the strength most small pod kits are designed around.
If you are moving between devices, note that the same strength behaves differently in different hardware: a higher-power device delivers more liquid per puff, so a strength that suited a low-power pod may feel different in a larger kit.
What UK law fixes, and what it does not
Under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations, nicotine e-liquid sold in the UK is capped at 20mg/ml and nicotine-containing bottles at 10ml. Those two limits are why every bottle on this page is 10ml and why nothing is stronger than 20mg — it is not a stocking choice. Tanks and pods are separately capped at 2ml.
Nic salts against 50/50 freebase
Both are sold in 10ml bottles at the same strengths, and both suit refillable pod kits. The practical difference is the throat sensation at higher strengths, which is why 20mg is common in salts and less common in freebase. If you are unsure, buying one of each in the same flavour is the cheapest way to settle it.
Storage and shelf life
Keep bottles closed, upright, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Most carry a best-before date on the bottle or carton. Colour darkening over time is normal oxidation of the flavourings and does not by itself mean a bottle has spoiled, though flavour will fade.
Why a bottle can taste different in a new device
The same liquid genuinely does taste different in different hardware, and it is not imagination. Coil resistance, airflow and power all change how much liquid is vaporised per puff and at what temperature. A sweet flavour that is balanced in a tight, low-power pod can become cloying in a more powerful device, and a subtle one can disappear entirely. If a flavour you have liked for months suddenly seems wrong, check whether the coil is near the end of its life before concluding the liquid has changed.
How long a 10ml bottle lasts
There is no single answer, because consumption is set by the device rather than the liquid. A low-power pod getting through 1ml a day makes a 10ml bottle last a week and a half. A higher-power kit vaporises considerably more per puff and will empty the same bottle much faster. If you are moving to a more powerful device, budget for more liquid, not less.
Buying several
Most of this range is covered by multi-buy pricing, applied automatically in the basket with no code to enter. Flavours and strengths can be mixed within a single offer, so there is no advantage to buying several of the same thing.
Choosing in three questions
Almost every liquid decision comes down to the same three, in this order.
- What does your device take? A pod kit or MTL tank wants 10ml 50/50 or nic salt. A sub-ohm kit wants a VG-heavy shortfill. Getting this wrong is what burns coils, and no change of flavour will fix it.
- What strength? Low-power devices are generally paired with the upper end of the range, higher-power devices with much lower strengths, because power decides how much liquid — and therefore how much nicotine — each puff delivers.
- What flavour? Only now. It is the part everyone starts with and the part that matters least to whether the setup works.
If a setup is not working, change one variable at a time and keep the other two fixed. Changing device, strength and flavour together leaves no way to tell which one was the problem.
The terms you will meet, in plain English
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| mg/ml | Nicotine concentration — milligrams of nicotine in each millilitre of liquid. Capped at 20mg/ml in the UK. |
| Ohm (Ω) | Coil resistance. Higher means a tighter draw and less vapour; lower means an airier draw and more. |
| Sub-ohm | A coil below 1.0 ohm. Produces a lot of vapour, needs thick VG-heavy liquid and low nicotine. |
| MTL | Mouth to lung. Draw into the mouth, then inhale. Tight, and the more familiar of the two styles. |
| DTL | Direct to lung. Draw straight in. Airy, high vapour, sub-ohm hardware. |
| VG / PG | Vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol. VG is thicker and makes vapour; PG is thinner and carries flavour. |
| Freebase | Conventional nicotine. Harsher than salt nicotine at high strengths, which is why 50/50 tends to be bought lower down the range. |
| Nic salt | A smoother form of nicotine, which is why 20mg is common in salts and uncommon in freebase. |
| Shortfill | A larger nicotine-free bottle, part-filled so a nicotine shot can be added. |
| Priming | Filling a new pod and waiting five minutes before the first puff so the wick saturates. |
| Wicking | How liquid reaches the coil. Too thick for the wick and the coil runs dry and burns. |
The five mistakes that cost people money
- Not priming a new pod. One dry first puff can ruin a coil permanently. Fill it, wait five minutes.
- Thick liquid in a small coil. A VG-heavy shortfill in a pod built for 50/50 will not wick, and burns within a few puffs.
- Buying pods on brand alone. Ranges within one brand rarely interchange. Match the range name off the device, not from memory.
- Chasing strength instead of hardware. If a setup feels too weak, the device is more often the cause than the number on the bottle.
- Filling a pod to the very top. With no air gap, pressure changes push liquid out through the airway. Fill to just below the line.
What UK law fixes, in one place
| Limit | Value | Why it exists |
|---|---|---|
| Nicotine strength | 20mg/ml maximum | Tobacco and Related Products Regulations |
| Bottle size, with nicotine | 10ml maximum | Same regulations — larger bottles must be nicotine-free |
| Tank and pod capacity | 2ml maximum | Same regulations |
| Devices | Must be rechargeable and refillable | In force since 1 June 2025 |
These apply to every retailer selling lawfully in the UK, so a product advertised outside them is a reason to look closely at where it came from. They are also why the range looks the way it does — a 10ml bottle is not a small version of something bigger, it is the whole category for nicotine liquid.

Frequently Asked Questions
Both are nicotine e-liquid in 10ml bottles at the same strengths. Nic salts use a different form of nicotine that is generally described as smoother at the throat, which is why 20mg is common in salts and less common in 50/50 freebase. Both suit refillable pod kits.
20mg is the UK legal maximum and is what most small, low-power pod kits are designed around. 10mg suits a slightly more powerful device, or anyone stepping down. Strength is chosen on the product page — most of our range is bottled at both.
UK regulations cap nicotine-containing e-liquid bottles at 10ml and the nicotine itself at 20mg/ml. Anything larger sold in the UK is a shortfill, which contains no nicotine as supplied. It is a legal limit, not a stocking choice.
Almost any refillable pod kit or MTL tank, which is what they are formulated for. They are too thin for VG-heavy sub-ohm tanks, where they tend to leak rather than wick properly. If your device specifies a VG/PG ratio, follow it.
It depends entirely on the device rather than the liquid. A low-power pod getting through about 1ml a day makes a bottle last a week and a half; a more powerful kit vaporises more per puff and empties it faster.
