What a shortfill is, and why it exists
A shortfill is a larger bottle supplied with no nicotine in it, deliberately part-filled so a nicotine shot can be added. UK law caps any bottle containing nicotine at 10ml, so a 50ml or 100ml bottle can only be sold nicotine-free — the shortfill is the format the law produced.
A 50ml shortfill in a 60ml bottle plus one 10ml 18mg shot lands at roughly 3mg. These are built for higher-powered sub-ohm kits, not for pod devices.
Strength, and what UK law fixes
Nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20mg/ml and bottles containing nicotine at 10ml, both set by the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations rather than by any brand. Tanks and pods are capped at 2ml. Lower-powered pod kits are generally paired with the upper end of the strength range and higher-powered kits with the lower end, because power decides how much liquid each puff delivers.
Storage
Keep bottles closed, upright, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Liquid darkens with age as the flavourings oxidise — expected rather than a fault, though flavour fades with it.
